1674C and 1678C Automatic Microphone Mixers

ARCHITECT'S AND ENGINEER'S SPECIFICATIONS (1678C)

The automatic microphone mixer/amplifier shall contain eight mixer inputs, each usable with balanced microphone sources. Channels 4 and 8 shall be capable of selecting balanced microphone or high level sources. Switchable phantom power shall be provided for condenser type microphones. Total system mix gain shall be held constant by automatic adjustment of the signal level in each channel, and maximum gain shall be provided to any single microphone in multi-microphone operation. Each channel shall be capable of either manual or automatic level control. Priority/mute circuitry shall be provided for operation with any selected channel. Each channel shall be provided with a switchable high pass filter. Connectors shall be provided to permit linking multiple mixer/amplifiers into larger systems. The mixer/ amplifier shall operate from a 100/120/200/220/240 Vac, 50/60 Hz line, shall contain eight LED front panel indicators to identify operating channels, and shall provide protective circuitry for the power supply and output stage.

The mixer/amplifier shall meet the following criteria: Gain, 94 dB. Frequency response, ±1 dB from 35 Hz to 15 kHz. THD, less than 0.20% from 35 Hz to 15 kHz at +14 dBm (3.88V into a 6000 load), Chan In to Main Out with Channel fader and master fader at nominal levels. Hum and noise, -128 dBm EIN. Each channel shall be provided with a line output and a logic output; line output shall be nominally -10 dB (245 mV) to a maximum of +24 dB (12.3V); logic output shall be nominally 1.0 Vdc to 4.0 Vdc or greater. The mixer/ amplifier shall be 3y~" H X 19" W x 121/z" D and shall weigh 18 pounds.

The automatic microphone mixer/amplifier shall be the Altec Lansing model 1678C.
